How Do Entry Revivals Work?
(Entry revivals are also known as “buybacks” in other contest formats.)
A private survivor contest with entry revivals enabled allows users to pay a fee to revive or continue to play their recently-eliminated entry and attempt to win the contest. The entry revival does NOT create a new entry and all previously-picked teams are not available to the entrant going forward.
Entry Revival Rules
At the start of the contest, the commissioner may set the entry revival fee, the maximum number of entry revivals and the entry revival deadline.
The entry revival fee may be the same as the contest entry fee, 2x the contest entry fee or 3x the contest entry fee. The number of entry revivals may be set at 1, 2 or 3. The entry revival deadline may be set at Week 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
If an entrant has multiple entries in the contest, each entry is eligible for a separate entry revival until the entry revival deadline.
An entrant may not exercise their entry revival until the current slate of games (in which the entrant was eliminated) is complete.
An entrant must exercise their entry revival prior to the beginning of the next slate of games or the entry revival is lost.
An entrant may not exercise their entry revival after the buyback deadline has passed.
If a contest starts with entrants having more than one life, an entry revival shall only count for one life.
An entrant who revives their entry will not be allowed to pick any team(s) selected prior to when their revival was made.
Used or unused entry revivals do not impact contest tiebreakers.
A contest may end before the entry revival deadline if all remaining entrants are eliminated but decline to use their revival(s).
Each entry revival fee will be added to the bonus prize.
In a contest with entry revivals enabled, the bonus prize – the sum of all entry revival fees – shall be finalized and added to the total prize amount after the entry revival deadline has passed. Resizing rules may be applied to entry revivals in private contests (see resizing rules).
