How does contest resizing work?

Resizing allows your private Splash Sports contest to run for a prize even if it isn't 100% filled.

Contest Resizing Criteria

A private contest will be automatically resized if the number of entries is greater than the number of prize spots. If the number of entries is less than the number of prize spots and the contest does not fill (to 100%), it will run for free and all entrants will be refunded their entry fee.

Note: Public contests will NOT be resized.

Resized Contest Prize Structure

If your private contest has not filled by the entry deadline and is automatically resized, it will maintain the initial prize structure if possible. Otherwise, the next closest prize payout structure will be chosen from the table below:

Original Prize Structure Number of Entries When Contest Locks Resized Contest Payout
Winner takes all 2 or more Winner takes all
Top X win x or fewer Contest runs for free
x+1 or more Top X win

Multiplier Resizing Structure

Original Prize Structure Payout Amount* Initial Total Prize Amount Initial Number of Winners** Resized Prize Amount Resized Number Of Winner**

Double Up

2 * Entry Fee

{Entry Fee} * {Max # of Entrants} x 0.90

Initial Total Prize Amount / Payout Amount

({Entry Fee} * {Actual # of Entrants}) x 0.90

Resized Prize Amount / Payout Amount

Triple Up

3 * Entry Fee

{Entry Fee} * {Max # of Entrants} x 0.90

Initial Total Prize Amount / Payout Amount

({Entry Fee} * {Actual # of Entrants}) x 0.90

Resized Prize Amount / Payout Amount

Quadruple Up

4 * Entry Fee

{Entry Fee} * {Max # of Entrants} x 0.90

Initial Total Prize Amount / Payout Amount

({Entry Fee} * {Actual # of Entrants}) x 0.90

Resized Prize Amount / Payout Amount

*In a multiplier contest, the payout amount is NEVER resized down. If the contest is not filled, the number of winners will be resized down.
**If the calculated number of winners is a decimal, the number of winners is rounded down to the nearest whole number
