Splash Sports has officially launched its licensed Player Pick’em and Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) contests in New York State, becoming the first new fantasy sports operator approved in the state in nearly a decade — and only the second licensed operator to offer a player pick’em–style game in New York.
The expansion follows approval from the New York State Gaming Commission in 2024 and marks a major milestone in the company’s national growth.
QuickPicks and Peer-to-Peer Contests Now Live in NY
New York users can now access Splash’s QuickPicks — its player pick’em format — along with its established Tiers, One and Done, and Survivor contests.
Unlike traditional house-based models, Splash contests are entirely peer-to-peer, meaning participants compete against one another. Commissioners can create private groups, customize settings, and manage their own competitions.
Fans can organize digital brackets, run private group contests, and access competitions directly within the Splash Sports app on iOS, Android, or desktop.
Built on the RunYourPool and OfficeFootballPool Community
Splash Sports launched in its current form following the acquisition and integration of RunYourPool (RYP) and OfficeFootballPool (OFP), two leaders in free-to-play sports games.
Together, the combined platforms now serve more than 2 million users across 40 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., and Canada (excluding Quebec).
Fans familiar with RunYourPool bracket contests can continue organizing groups while also exploring Splash’s licensed fantasy offerings through the broader Splash ecosystem.
Leadership on the New York Launch
“New York is a vital state for us,” said co-CEO TJ Ross, noting the competitive sports culture of New York fans and the opportunity to expand paid fantasy contests across football, basketball, baseball, golf, and hockey.
Co-CEO Joel Milton added that Splash has focused on building an industry-leading fantasy experience that emphasizes proactive player protections and responsible play practices — a factor recognized in the company’s approval by the state commission.
Expanded Contest Options for New York Players
With the launch, eligible New York users can now participate in:
The addition of licensed player pick’em contests significantly expands the available fantasy formats in the state, giving players more ways to compete in skill-based contests against peers.
