Everyone picks Scheffler in Tier 1. Most people will take Morikawa or Åberg in Tier 2. Those are solid plays. But the entries that win the Splash $350K Guaranteed Masters Fantasy Tiers Contest won’t win because of their top-tier picks. They’ll win because they found edge in Tiers 3 and 4.

Why Value Picks Win Fantasy Tiers Contests

In a Fantasy Tiers format, every contestant has access to the same players in each tier. The difference between winning and losing almost always comes down to the lower tiers - specifically, finding players who outperform their tier placement. One great Tier 3 or Tier 4 pick can be the difference between finishing in the money and winning the whole thing.

Our 2026 Masters Value Picks by Tier

Tier 2: Tommy Fleetwood

Elite ball-striker who gets overlooked in major conversations. His Augusta history is trending up and he’s quietly one of the best values in the mid-tier range. If you’re looking to differentiate from the chalk in Tier 2, Fleetwood is the pick.

Tier 3: Bryson DeChambeau

His power game uniquely neutralizes Augusta’s length. High ceiling - if he’s on, he’s a legitimate contender regardless of tier. One of the highest upside picks available in the middle tiers.

Tier 3: Shane Lowry

Underrated course management game. He loves a slow and steady climb up leaderboards over four days, and Augusta is built for his patience. A reliable value option who rarely gets the credit he deserves heading into majors.

Tier 4: Sepp Straka

Consistently outperforms at Augusta relative to his world ranking. His iron play is underappreciated and he tends to go quietly up the leaderboard in ways that only show up in the final standings.

Tier 4: Harris English

When he’s hot, he can go low for four straight rounds. The upside available in Tier 4 at a major is hard to replicate anywhere else on the schedule. English is our top swing-for-the-fences pick in the bottom tier.

The Framework: How to Build a Winning Lineup

  • Tier 1: Take your favorite among Scheffler, McIlroy, or Schauffele. All three are legitimate winners.
  • Tier 2: Fleetwood or Åberg over the consensus picks. This is your first chance to create separation.
  • Tier 3: High variance, high upside. Lowry and DeChambeau are our top targets. One of them having a great week makes your lineup.
  • Tier 4: Swing for upside. Straka and English are our favorites - but trust your golf knowledge here.
